Future Clarification.
We have had a lot of emails and messages asking about the trials and the MS next season. Many of these have been from players in Europe, the US and Russia. Some of these players are very good and would need no trial. In fact we could have a really strong starting 5 with imported players and no UK players! Why are we not taking them on? It’s quite simple really. At this moment in time, Nexus is the only UK Pro Team. It is disheartening to write those words but it is a fact and one that cannot be ignored. So how do we change it? To be honest, we are not too sure but the first step is to try and raise the level of UK players in general and this is the main reason we are looking to recruit players from the UK only. We need to try and get the UK back on track and importing talent is not the way to do it. this may hurt us as far as results go but it has to be done and it is testament to Dye’s commitment to paintball on a global scale that they are supporting the team in this. It would be easy for Dye to field a season winning team in the CPL but what would it achieve? Short term glory maybe but in the long term it would be detrimental to the “Goal”. We have some ideas for 2012 that will hopefully come to fruition, to further help us in the quest, to at least get one more Pro Team going in the UK but they are ideas and small ones that need some serious thought and commitment in order for them to be workable but we are working it out… slowly. We are trying but we cannot do it alone. If you want to excel then we can help you but it cannot work if it’s one way traffic.
